Part III – Documentation

This section contains the audio and film documentation of the seven Research Performances as seven films. The material exists as seven films and can be accessed in two ways:

  • An archive version held on DMU Figshare
  • A password-protected version on Vimeo

To find an individual piece in a performance, follow the timing noted after each work in the Vimeo text, and also repeated in the information below.

Programme information for each of the seven performances follows. This information is repeated in the relevant Performance Study Chapters.

Performance V (Reflection) – Takehisa Kosugi

Vimeo: Experience for Performer and Cello (2020)

This original piece imitates elements of Kosugi’s Catch Wave and mano dharma systems, alongside a performance of the Fluxus work Anima 7 to draw attention to and to follow his interest in immateriality, the revealing of phantoms and phenomena in the environment. Kosugi’s text instructions for Catch Wave were ‘performed’ to begin the process, using my “fishing rod dropped into the pond” to find the sound-objects before beginning.
